From the head chef and owner, on May 13th -
"Woke up this morning thinking how lucky I am.
The best parents (mom and dad, I love you ), family ( the coolest brothers Kyaw, Saw jr & Hing ), wife ( the prettiest ), daughter ( the smartest ), relatives ( too long a list to name them all ), friends ( you know who you are ), and coworkers, ( like family to me ) in the world.
As I get older I tend to look back and see what I have done and where I am today.
Today I am 41 years old! I am very happy with where my life is and very happy with who is in my life.
Also I have been in the restaurant business for more than half of my life, 23 years to be exact and 15 of it with Mandalay.
'MANDALAY' has been and will always be the biggest part of my life. That is why the next statement is very hard for me.
The DC restaurant will be closing on May 15th at 8pm. I have the opportunity to be with my family more and I am taking that opportunity while I can. I regret disappointing friends and customers, but I will be back.
I want to thank all of you for your support and understanding throughout the years.
We would not have Mandalay if it wasn't for each of you and all of your continued support.
